Wardrobe Must Haves: Essential Basics
I hope you and your loved ones are all are doing well. I feel it is important to preface this new series of posts with a note to let you all know that I continue to remain sensitive about the content I am creating and sharing with you here on my platform, as well as on social media. I know that all of us are doing our best and taking it day by day, and understand that shopping, style and fashion are not a current priority to most. I have been in self-quarantine since mid-March, and am taking it very seriously. This partnership is the first paid project I have taken since the last round of posts I shared with you in April. My boyfriend took these images with my iPhone in our neighborhood, we were VERY careful to keep our distance from everyone, and I wore a mask in between all of our shooting. I hope this brings you a bit of sunshine, inspiration, and a little bit of refreshing normalcy. Sending you all lots of love!

One of the tips I always share with my personal styling clients, is the importance of adding well fitting, high quality essential basics to your wardrobe that you can use to build endless outfit combinations. These key pieces work as outfit foundations, then creating your perfect look becomes all about adding your style personality with color, texture, print, layers, and accessories!
The key is to make sure your basics are high-quality, since you will typically be getting a lot more wear and wash out of them. Splurge on the basics, save on the trends! The Suprema collection from Catherines is always a go-to for me for the essentail basics because their famous Suprema cotton is premium quality, with lots of stretch and durability, making it super comfy and wearable without loosing shape and color when you wash. I have several of the tanks and tees from this collection, and I wear them over and over, season after season. You saw me wear them in black HERE and HERE and in grey HERE and HERE.
I am wearing the Suprema Tank {in white), paired with another great basic, the Everyday Jean {in med wash}. The tank is a classic fit {length falls just at the hip} with a scoop neck, and the jeans are pull on with and elastic waist and tapered leg {I’m wearing 3X in both styles}.
I layered my basics with the Golden Palm Kimono, and accessorized with the Floral Teardrop Pendant and Tide Pool Beaded Bracelet, as well as a few of my daily go-to delicates jewels and festive summer favs. You KNOW I LOVE a fun kimono. They are SO easy breezy to wear, will keep you cool in the summer and you can layer for warmth in the winter, and you can throw on with your favorite basics and accessories for an instant chic look. You have seen me wear all the best Catherines kimonos last summer HERE, and for fall HERE and HERE.

Sizing: I am wearing a size 3X in this dress. I typically wear a size 26/28 or 4X , however the Catherines sizing is generous, so I always go for a 24 or 3X, unless there is no stretch, in which case I will size up.
