The Casual Fall Transition

My celebration of denim week and Catherines Univeral Jeans continues! In my last post, my look was sleek and chic black denim {check it out here}, and now I am taking an easier, casual approach to the fall transition, which is always tricky for me because my mood is full on fall vibes, but its still 90 in LA, so its a bit premature to be living my best fall life. It reminds me of growing up in Phoenix, being so excited to get brand new school clothes at the end of the hot desert summer, and wanting to show off my new wardrobe immediately, but almost dying of heat exhaustion when I tried to literally play it cool in layers, long-sleeves, and denim.
My solution to a successful fall wardrobe transition is always to keep it simple. I rely heavily on my well fitting basics, like these Universal Jeans in Bourbon and Suprema Tee in grey, then start to splash in the colors and trends of the season, mixed in with my carryover accessories from summer. I love to layer, but since its still so warm {and I am basically hot year round}, I stick to breathable cotton blend fabrics and lightweight layers.
Rusty red and brown earth tones are a huge trend for fall, and the lightweight open weave of this Valley View Ribbed Duster, paired with the Tortoise Circle Drop Earring is the perfect pop against the neutrals.

The best thing about all of these pieces is that I can mix and match them into endless wardrobe combos, throughout all seasons!
