{style} How to Mix Prints
This entire summer, my fashion brain has been completely wrapped around the upcoming fall season- planning for upcoming projects, researching fall trends, and prepping and styling fall photo shoots.
As a stylist, it comes with the territory.
Always ahead of the fashion curve, always living in the future…
All that being said, I needed a little bit of a fashion escape, out of my work head and back to the here and now… back to the last few weeks of summer!
I am a sucker for a mixed print / bright color ensemble.Crisp, fresh, playful, and ready for the weekend. I felt like I should have been strolling around the hamptons!
{STYLE TIP} If mixed prints are a new wardrobe adventure for you, or if you are reluctant to try it,
a safe place to start is with two classic prints in the same color palette
OR
one subtle print, and one bold.
Add a bright pop of color {or hey- maybe two}
Voila! Fun summer ensemble created!
I would totally wear this with a great pair of colored skinny jeans as well.
Coral, green, yellow, red, purple- whatever floats your boat!
This OOTD is another Gwynnie Bee creation.
Talbots Summer Dot Shirt
Land’s End Chevron Cardigan
ASOS Curve Belted Skater Skirt
all via Gwynnie Bee!
I had been eyeing this green skater skirt from ASOS Curve, but wasn’t completely sold on it. I wasn’t quite sure about the length, or the volume of the skirt. Also, I had never personally tried anything from the Talbots or Land’s End plus ranges {only shopped there with my clients}, so this was all
something new for me, and I was pleasantly surprised.
That is what is so awesome about the Gwynnie Bee service. There is always something new arriving at your doorstep, and you have the freedom to try new styles, colors, silhouettes, and brands that you might not be inclined to try, or maybe have even know about or had easy access to.
The day I wore this outfit, my BF made a comment that I always wear the same jewelry… My response was “Uhmmm, yeah- I do. And”??? {side eye} What can I say- if I’m into it, I’m into it! Then I’m usually over it. Currently my jewelry obsession consists of these little gems:
square coral studs / Target
gold & yellow enamel stack rings / Nordstrom
“R” initial pendant / C Wonder
gold ‘jet sport’ watch / Michael Kors
multi-colored friendship bracelets / Target
cigar band ring / Anna Beck {similar here}
I have been “toting” this bag around all summer {hehe}. It comes in a few different sizes, and endless color combinations, and you can personalize it!!!
‘Nylon Easy Tote‘ / C Wonder
nude ballet flats / The Avenue
