5 Tips on Shopping Sales and Clearance

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is October, given that we have been experiencing a heat wave in LA {like 90 and up} for literally the entire month of September, so I am understandably having a hard time letting go of my summer dresses, bright prints and open-toe sandals.
This is my favorite time of year to stock up on summer pieces that are on sale, especially since it doesn’t get THAT cold here in SoCal…. I got a great deal on THIS DRESS and lots of other goodies that I have been wearing this past month. I will stash them in the back of my closet so that I have a fresh wardrobe next spring/summer. A bit of advice for shopping off season…
- Do not buy in a smaller size hoping you will loose weight. Only invest in things that fit you in this moment… if you DO loose weight you can have it altered!
- Take a look at trend and color reports for the coming seasons to see which colors, prints, styles and silhouettes are going to carry over into the next fashion season. If it is not going to be on trend or relevant you most likely will not want to wear it.
- Concentrate on your go-to colors and styles… that way your purchase is a sure thing!
- Keep it classic. Staple pieces will always stand the test of time in your wardrobe, and if you get them on sale it is a total bonus. Avoid buying novelty and fast trend items during this time… chances are you won’t want to wear them a year from now.
- Would you love it as much if it were full price? Low prices are always super enticing, but if the item is not something you would purchase at regular price, then it is not a must have and you can probably skip it. I always advise on saving your money and splurging on one item you LOVE, rather than spending on a few items you just like.
