Finding Confidence
Lately I have been getting a lot of personal messages asking me how I found my confidence as a plus size woman and comments stating “I wish I could wear the clothes you wear/look like you/be confident like you“, so I wanted to take a moment to answer all of you the best way I know how…
FIRST, let me say this… we are ALL the same! We ALL go through the same challenges with self-esteem, finding confidence, body acceptance, and battling self-doubt. There is no perfect formula for finding confidence and being a confident person, but I do believe that it all starts with CHANGE within ourselves… change in our thinking, change of focus, and changing the conversation… taking our thinking to a positive place, shifting our focus onto what we love about ourselves, and changing the conversation to eliminate the negative self-talk. It is a personal journey for all of us that will constantly evolve throughout our lives.
SECOND, I must address the fashion element to finding confidence… How we dress every day is a direct reflection of how we feel on the inside. The clothing we wear should always make us feel like a million bucks. Something about the garment- the style, color, texture, pattern, fit, or style details should instantly take you to FAB status when you slip it on. Life is too short to not feel good about yourself every single day– INSIDE AND OUT, and fashion is there to help us do just that!
Wearing this high-slit maxi and lace moto jacket instantly make me feel all kinds of sexy, sassy, and confident… paired with rose gold accessories, statement necklace, red lips and classic cat eyes, and it’s a definite sassy sandwich!
Be bold and unapologetic in the skin you’re in TODAY… don’t wait until you {fill in the blank} to embrace who you are. Life is about the journey, and finding ourselves and our personal style is an ever changing and evolving part of our lives. That is the beauty of TODAY- it is a unique part of your life. Own every minute of it!
