Sunshine Daydream
Summertime has me completely inspired to channel my inner hippie child, be free, and frolic in the sunshine. Flashback to my teens, when I drove an orange 1973 Volkswagen Squareback, most of my wardrobe came from thrift stores, and my friends and I hung out every night at the local coffee shop, listening to poetry and waxing intellectual about the ways of the world and everything we thought we knew about life.
I have been enjoying the summer slowdown, and the gorgeous socal weather that we have been having, which for me means easy breezy wardrobe decisions! Maxi dresses, gladiator sandals, and loaded on statement accessories! Throughout my fashion journey over the past several years, my personal style has evolved from the teenager wearing men’s levis and band t-shirts, and into a modern, more polished and put together version of that Reah from high school.
I will always be a 90’s lovin’ “grunge girl meets hippie chic” at heart!
When I saw this amazing maxi dress while browsing through the Gwynnie Bee site, I knew I wanted to give it a whirl. I usually go for color in my prints, and I already have several printed maxi dresses in my wardrobe, so this black & white aztec print by Coldwater Creek is a new adventure for me! Also, this is the first time I have ever tried anything from their plus collection. This is what I love about Gwynnie Bee- tons of options, and freedom to try a new style, color, print, or designer to take me “outside my fashion box“.
