I welcome the new year as a sweet little reset… no resolutions, just mindfullness! I always take a few weeks to set my intentions for the year, cleanse my space, set some personal and professional goals, and also start the spring cleaning process for my home and wardrobe.
If there is one thing I am taking away from this last year, it is that I want to embrace the little things in life that bring me joy, especially when I get dressed, since I am usually just at home wearing athleisure these days!
You guys know I love a denim jacket and maxi skirt (hehe)… you have seen my extensive collection over the years (this look is similar and another one here), so when Lane Bryant reached out to me to share a first look at their new spring collection, I immediately loved these pieces.
New, on trend vibrant prints are typically the first thing I add to my wardrobe with each new season, as it is a simple way to instantly infuse some excitement back into your wardrobe, and they can mix and match well with your existing, well loved basics.
This Floral Seamed Maxi Skirt is the perfect spring addition- the two seams on the bottom of the skirt give a nice kick of drama, and the crepe fabric and elastic waistband are super comfy.
Fit Notes: I am wearing the 26/28, which is my typical Lane Bryant size, but the waistband is very generous so I could have easily sized down in this one, especially wearing it a bit higher on my waist.
Living in LA, it does not get super cold here, and I am ALWAYS hot anyway, so I built the look with this Perfect Sleeve Swing Tee with Shirred Shoulders. It is SO soft and lightweight, and the design of the swing silhouette is easy to style breezy and flowy, or tucked in.
Bonus- This tee is a level up from your typical basics, with beautiful shirred detail at the shoulders.
Adding this Ripped Light Wash Denim Jacket was a no-brainer for me. I love the light denim, washed texture, and ripped details which give it an edgy, vintage vibe to contrast pairing it with more feminine pieces. The fit of this plus size denim jacket is exceptional, and I can wear it with just about everything in my closet (I am wearing a size 26).
Bonus- its super stretchy and the perfect weight to layer for extra warmth and then transition on its own into warmer weather.
My boho heart loves styling booties with skirts and dresses, especially during the transition months when it’s too cool for sandals. These booties are wide width and constructed with DREAM CLOUD insoles, which means they have 5mm of cushion padding making them very cushy and soft, and the heel is low, so they are very wearable.
